Day 45-Got Wisdom? We do.

He said: Finished. 97 miles.
She said: It was a pretty uneventful day as Paul spun through the mountains and valleys of Montana. Went through the town of Dillon where there is a big rodeo this weekend. It took forever to get something to eat...lots of crowds, not used to that as we don't go through too many big towns. Glad to get out of there and on the road again. Paul had 2 big passes to get over with his 3 speed and he did a phenomenal job. We stopped in Wisdom, MT for the night and went to a nice restaurant across the street from our motel. We were waiting for our food and I wandered into the shop attached to the restaurant. When I came back, Paul had struck up a conversation with a couple sitting at the next table. They live about 75 miles from here, and had come to Wisdom to do some bird hunting. Mark and Helen are from Alaska and have been in Montana for 2 years for Mark's job. He is an electrical engineer and is working in the area-they will be heading back to Alaska soon. Anyway-we got an invitation to dinner at their house tomorrow night. It should be a fun evening.

Near the top of the pass.

Made it over pass number one.

On the road-Big Sky, huh?

I have so many bugs stuck to the car-this guy decided to have a feast.

The field of hay bales went on for over 3 miles.

  1. The hospitality of people who don't live in the northeast never ceases to amaze me. Even the chickens help you clean your car. Still gorgeous country, still convinced I have to get out there. I'm having so much fun following your adventure that I suggest that when you hit the Pacific, you take the coast highway down to oh, say San Diego, and then pedal back across the south posting all the while. Whatdya say 3 speed?
